Caltra under 14's took part in the feile B shield competition last weekend. The team played St Kerils and Menlough in the group games in Menlough on Saturday last, winning both games. The team then went on to Killkerin Clonberne on Saturday evening to play Killererin in the semifinal. Caltra won this game comprehensively on a scoreline of 7-11 to 1-5. On Sunday, the team travelled to Pearse Stadium to play Kilconly in the final but unfortunately lost on a score line of 3-5 to 2-3. Despite the loss, this was a very brave performance from the team and they were well in the game right to the finish. This was a very successful weekend for the panel and bodes well for this group of players for the future. Well done to the management team of Joe Butler, Shane Feeney and Joe Treacy for their time and committment to this group over the weekend.
Eoin Delaney won the skills competition on Saturday and qualified for the final on Sunday. Eoin put in a great effort despite just after playing the shield final, but was unsuccessful in his attempt to win.
